Alfred C. Bossom, Manhattan architect, has invented a device for saving persons accidentally locked in bank vaults from suffocation. It consists of a tank holding a 24-hour supply of oxygen. The locking of the door automatically switches on an electric light which illuminates a card of directions for the person locked in. The card tells how to turn the stopcock of the tank, which releases the oxygen gradually as needed. Mr. Bossom will not patent his device because of its humanitarian need.
