...Pole Vaulter Bob Seagren. In weight lifting, the 175-lb. part-time movie actor pressed 170 Ibs. to upset Frazier, who managed only 160 Ibs. Seagren also won the half-mile run and then outlasted Frazier and Skier Jean-Claude Killy to take the one-mile bicycle race. Going against an automatic baseball pitching machine, Seagren surprised himself and Runner-up Gilbert by stroking one ball over a barrier 300 feet away. His point total was good enough to win first-place money of $39,700. Killy was second and collected $23,400; Revson and Laver tied for third...

Freshman Huseiyin Kayali continued to surprise in the triple jump, taking second to a meet-record 49 ft. 4 1/4 in. performance by Cornell's Jim Leonard. Mel Embree jumped 6 ft. 8 in. to take a strong second in the high jump while Pole-vaulter Jim Kleiger remained undefeated in the event with a winning jump of 16 ft. Harvard expects no problems in the pole vault, the 35-pound and the shot. Pole vaulter Jim Kleiger finished first on Saturday in the USTFF meet at Dartmouth with a vault of 16'1 1:4. He should win easily. And Jay Hughes, who has finished first in the weight and shot in all three meets so far, should be able to do it again. Northeastern's Paul Rao and Bill Taylor could give him some trouble, but Hughes has thrown farther than either Huskie this year...
