Cause for speculation and calculation arose from the celestially minute sizes of the Delporte and Reinmuth Objects (about three miles diameter) and from their unexpected locations. The Delporte Object was only ten million miles from Earth. The Sun is 92,897,400 mi. away. Venus (nearest planet) is 25 million miles at its nearest.
