...With 1988's "The Thin Blue Line," Errol Morris took his compositional approach to documentary filmmaking further than he had with his two earlier works, "Gates of Heaven" and "Vernon, Florida." Instead of a misleadingly straightforward, observational style, this film includes entire scenes shot as reenactments.
