...salon’s tables. These dancing digits show off the colorful nail designs, which shine with an intensity that Kid Sister hopes to one day match. They also supply some necessary choreography in an otherwise static video. Despite an awkward Kanye and a mostly sedentary Kid Sister, the video??€™s clever finger dance sequences and colorful (literally) staging keeps the viewer’s attention for the full three and a half minutes. Quite the feat for a song about fingernails...
...name has certainly turned heads in Korea, but not always in positive ways. According to Baek, many of the initial reactions to his music have been based on his American identity, and, even more predictably, on his status as a Harvard student, instead of the music itself. Since the video??€™s release, Baek has come across several blog sites saying that he should just stick to being a student, while others complain about the fact that he will probably never serve in the South Korean army...
...shreds of clothing are all vintage. Unequivocally the best part of the video is when Snoop Dogg takes his seduction into space. On a circular bed flying through the galaxy, Snoop croons to one of the objects of his affection. Being off by a few decades is not the video??€™s only advantage. The video is not destined for MTV, as it effectively thumbs its nose at the mainstream in both form and content. As frontman Alex Turner sings in the song?...
...since their first album (Newman has even said they sometimes forget she’s a part of the band), so it’s nice to see her return to the spotlight. Though mellower fare than their usual power-pop, the song is gorgeous, which compensates for the video??€™s slightly creepy couple and lack of action. Plus, the old-movie production touches (scratched lens, frames with fuzzy black edges) are interesting enough. Still, it’s hard not to long for their drum-heavy days, and Tobias Bluth too. But, alas, to quote...
