There's no reason why video chains like Blockbuster or Videosmith couldn't be a target. It won't be long before an FBI agent nonchalantly waltzes in to rent a couple of dirty movies and waltzes in a few days later with orders to seize not just that store, but every one in the chain. That kind of multi-million dollar ante doesn't exactly encourage store managers to vigorously assert their free speech rights by testing what does and doesn't violate community standards...

Now you can head over to Barsamian's to pick up a pound of Scottish smoked salmon for $26.50 or some rabbit pate for $9.58. Next stop: Videosmith, where local residents can drop off their Master-cards and rent the latest French film ($2.75 a day plus tax) to watch on their video cassette recorders...

Escape from the wretched Golden-Glo bogus butter and crowds of large cinemas, and the safe, seen-them-all-before programming of most repertory moviehouses is just a T ride away. It's not really so far from your front door to the Rear Window...
...other businesses have recently vacated the block of Massachusetts Avenue on which Chi-Chi's is located. Orson Welles Cinema, which was damaged by fire last spring, and the store on the corner have both been gutted. Videosmith and 1001 Plays are the two remaining businesses on the block...
