...sense of the diversity of filmgoers of faith, take a look at the minds behind Nativity. Screenwriter Rich, who attends a nondenominational church in Oregon, says, "I'm a man of faith, but I've seen [Martin Scorsese's violent, R-rated Mob drama] The Departed twice. Would I like to see more biblically based, spiritually based stories? I sure would. As long as they're of quality." The two producers who spearheaded the film are a Catholic altar boy from Texas turned Hollywood agent and a Tennessean who grew up attending a charismatic Christian church and recently produced Alien...
...fight back, the city's traders have organized strikes and protests, some of which have turned violent. Given their numbers, however, their most useful tool might be the ballot box. Neither man appreciates the chortling sounds coming from the vast Bush 41 crowd, which has long harbored grave doubts about...

I suspect that the U.S.'s current work on tactical nuclear weapons and our unwillingness to reduce our inventory of warheads are in violation of the NPT-making the U.S. an outlaw. If we're including violent tendencies in an analysis of risk, the U.S. is the only nuclear power to have used those weapons on human beings. I would say our role in leading nonproliferation enforcement efforts is somewhat hypocritical. We need to set a better example. Timothy C. Hohn Lake Forest Park, Washington...
