...Roger Trowbridge Atkinson of the class of 1894, died of pernicious malaria at the United States Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, Virginia, on November 10, after an illness of about ten days. After graduating at the Medical School in 1898, cum laude, Dr. Atkinson held various positions at the Medical School, was contract surgeon in the government service in the Philippines in 1900-1901, was appointed assistant surgeon at the United States Naval Hospital, Washington, June 22 1901, later returning to Boston on the receiving ship "Wabash."
