German photographer Michael Wolf is perhaps best known for his preoccupation with scale. With a cool, methodical, formalist vision in the vein of compatriots and fellow imagemakers Andreas Gursky and Candida Höfer, he has, in his most widely recognized photographs, depicted what he calls the "architecture of density" in Hong Kong, the city he has called home for the past 14 years. Some of this work formed part of his excellent 2005 book Hong Kong: Front Door/Back Door, which focused on the surreal traces of city dwellers in eerily depopulated urban frames. ...this seemingly glaring flaw. "It's surprising HP didn't get this right," says Bill Anderson, president of Oculis Labs in Hunt Valley, Md., a company that develops security software that uses face recognition to protect work computers from prying eyes. "These things are solvable." Case in point: Sensible Vision, which develops the face-recognition security software that comes with some Dell computers, said their software had no trouble picking up the black employee's face when they tested the YouTube video...

Those suffering from migraine with aura (the flashing lights and tunnel vision that precedes some migraine headaches) were nearly twice as likely to suffer from depression. Gone are the comedic acrobatics of past Zingaro productions. As Bartabas says, Darshan - meaning "vision of the divine" in Sanskrit - is a poetic meditation on "the horse as a vehicle for voyages in every sense of the term: voyages across countries and cultures, seasons and time, but also voyages within ourselves." Music as disparate as Tibetan chants and Mozart's masses plunges viewers into meditative states. Spectators are left to draw their own narrative from the flow of primal shadow images of warriors eating atop their mounts by twilight, processions of angels and demons, a meeting of primitive...
