Bush were nothing compared to what Slobodan Milosevic tried in Yugoslavia when, to his astonishment, an election went against him. ...across the border from Kosovo are a sign that some Albanians won't be taking no for an answer, and may be hoping to provoke a showdown with Belgrade before the Bush Administration carries out its threat to withdraw U.S. forces from the region. The new government of President Vojislav Kostunica is prepared to restrain the Yugoslav army as long as NATO remains prepared to do curb the guerrillas, but that may put Western troops on a collision course with the Albanian nationalists.
