Under the previous system, or more correctly, lack of system, the graduating members of the student body were ejected upon the actualities of wage earning with no other assistance than a diploma, and individual inclinations. Unless he happened to be especially fortunate in family connections, he was forced to accept the position that chance offered rather than take the time definitely to consider what fields might be most attractive and accessible.
