Just as the soft strains of Wagner's Prelude to Tristan und Isolde were floating out over Lewisohn Stadium last week, an airplane swooped low over the city, its roar and honk drowning out Conductor van Hoogstraten's orchestra and Edwin Franko Goldman's able, obliging band.
