Usage:

During all the years since the building was constructed, only one man has been locked in when the doors were closed in the evening. Last year a graduate student went to sleep while reading back among the stacks, and did not wake until the night watchman came along on his rounds and aroused him. The watchman used his key to open the door and let the sleeper out.
