...this has caused a swarm of Pierce legends in Wall Street. Two samples: Last summer on a very hot day the Pierce men were granted permission to remove their jackets. One unfortunate fellow wore suspenders. A special consultation was held regarding the desirability of his exposing this condition. . . . ...Whitney mounted the rostrum and trading was halted while he announced that two members had been found guilty of highly improper conduct, expelled. The men were G. Lisle Forman and Morrison B. Orr, floor partners of the recently insolvent firm of Prince & Whitely (TIME, Oct. 20).
