This committee was appointed by the Corporation in 1897, and was composed of Professor W. James M.S. '69, E. Wambaugh '76 and M. H. Morgan '81. Shortly afterward it prepared a report on the subject, recommending certain academic costumes which were to indicate degrees, officers of the University and undergraduates. The scheme out-lined was considered too elaborate by the Corporation and was not adopted.
