...final interclass debate, between the Seniors and Freshmen was held in the Fogg Lecture Room on March 13, and was won by the Freshmen. It was, as usual, the occasion for the ward of the Pasteur medal. The question, which is required to be on some topic dealing with contemporary French politics, was: "Resolved, That France should annex Morocco." ...Bowdoin prizes for English dissertations by undergraduates have been awarded as follows: The first prize of $250 to G.A. England '03, for his essay on "English Petrarchism;" and the second prize of $200 to L. Ward '03, for his essay on "Maurice Hewlitt." The prize for an English dissertation by a graduate will not be awarded this year, as no essay presented was found to have sufficient merit. ...meeting of the Corporation Yesterday the announcement was made of a gift of $50,000 from Mr. James Stillman of New York, the donor of the Stillman Infirmary, for a ward for contageous diseases in connection with the Infirmary. This sum is nearly as much as one-half the cost of the present building, and the addition, besides filling a great need, will very largely increase the ward room of the Infirmary.
