On Earth, an ensemble cast fleshes out the stereotypes (Harvey Fierstein, whiny gay man; Judd Hirsch, crusty old Jew; Vivica Fox, stripper with heart of gold), while the three male leads mine all available righteousness and comic charm. When Louis Gerstner arrived as CEO of IBM nearly three years ago, industry insiders saw the company's also-ran computer-operating system, called OS/2 Warp, as a likely target for the corporate ax.
