...Herford will speak in Sever 11 this evening, by special request, on "Some Differences between American and English Life." Dr. Herford's position in the community is sufficient to warrant an interesting conference, and he is eminently qualified to treat this subject, being an Englishman by birth and having spent many years in this country. This is the last time Dr. Herford will speak before the undergraduates, as his official connection with the college ends this week, and he returns next month to England. It is unfortunate that the conference comes on the same night as the Glee Club Concert...

...smaller clubs at Harvard was felt for some time before measures were finally taken two years ago to supply it. The plans which were then proposed were a trifle too elaborate; they were none too great in proportion to the need, but a trifle beyond what consverative estimates would warrant. The consequence was, that last year the Union of Clubs was unable to continue longer on the same plan as before and, as an organization, practically went to pieces...

...unlikely, we imagine, that the association will repeat its mistake of last year of not having its support assured beforehand. We understand that already enough funds have been secured to warrant the carrying on of the arrangements. To ensure success, however, the association will need far more generous support from the college. The work of the Cycling Association is a direct aid in the development of our material for the track athletic games with Yale and the other colleges. If our college recognized this fact more plainly, we should not now have to urge its more loyal support...
