Usage:

Visible light does not penetrate thick fog, but visible light is only a small segment on the wide spectrum of electro-magnetic radiation. Radiation which is too long in wave length to be seen, called infra-red and embracing wireless waves of all lengths, has the faculty of sliding around obstacles such as fog particles. Therefore an artificial eye which "sees" by infra-red radiation appears to offer the best hope of piercing...

...power, mixed up with a few neutrons of no charge and little mass. This is kept together by a strong force which prevents them flying apart, known as geography. This nucleus is not symmetrical as, included on its western edge, is a particularly powerful proton (Britain) that has 'wave characteristics' of a definite type peculiar to itself. In the south there is what might be called a neutrino (Italy). This has, some think, also wave mechanic aspirations. It is peculiar in this respect that its core is eternal (Rome) but its surround, some think, is ephemeral...

Sexational, robustious Cinemactress Mae West appeared on a commercial broadcast for the first time in four years. Result: the most indignant wave of protest from radio listeners in radio's history. No sooner had the program closed than angry comments began to pour in to the sponsors (Chase & Sanborn), the broadcasting company (NBC), the advertising agents (J. Walter Thompson). The National Legion of Decency threatened to clean...

...Menuhin announced he would give Robert Schumann's "lost" violin concerto its world premiere (TIME Aug. 23), the German Government announced it would pre-empt the initial hearing for its official anniversary Reichskultürkammer in Berlin. In Richmond, Va. last fortnight, Violinist Menuhin listened to a short-wave broadcast of Aryan George Kulenkampff's interpretation of the concerto, praised the German as "a violinist of the first rank" regretted that "the edition played was not the original." Father Moshe Menuhin was less complacent: "It was Yehudi who discovered it. ... Kulenkampff gave a distorted, garbled version by another...
