...about the activities of the hard-line elements who are still effectively in charge - particularly their headlong rush to acquire weapons of mass destruction, and the missile technology to deliver those over great distances. Moving in any direct way to retaliate against Iran for Khobar Towers would almost certainly weaken the hand of the reformists, and force them to close ranks with the hard-liners...
...right to kill killers but don't agree on why (revenge? deterrence? respect?), we are also not certain why it is wrong simply to watch the deed carried out. Would it horrify us or make us jaded? (Or - dare we say it - sympathetic?) Would it feed our bloodlust or weaken our will to kill? Would it be cruel and unusual punishment - or a reward...

The collective punishments imposed by the Israelis are becoming tougher and tougher. It's going to weaken the cease-fire, because the feeling is "why should we pay this price when we are getting nothing." Without giving the Palestinians a prize - lifting the closure and the economic sanctions - I think the cease-fire will be very temporary...
