...decided who were to be the winners. Harvard played a beautiful up hill game during the second half, and while the outcome was a great disappointment the whole college feels that the eleven played a game to be proud of. At no point in the contest did the men weaken and they kept up heart till time was called. The Harvard supporters cheered enthusiastically and let no opportunity go by for encouraging their players. The teams could hardly have been more evenly matched and the closeness of the score which indicates that only one scoring point was made...

...crew, but never says anything definite, as he does not wish to discourage the candidates or inspire them with over-confidence. He says the men are in very good condition to begin active training. There will be many changes in the make-up of the crew, which may weaken it and may strengthen it; which it will be he cannot say. Mr. Adee was also in New Haven, and between them and Captain Woodruff a definite course of training was laid out which it is hoped will result in turning out a very strong crew...

The first contains facts about the religious tendencies of Harvard that will be granted by every one who is acquainted with the inner workings of the University. Such a statement does much to weaken the prejudices of skeptical outsiders. "Advice to Sophomores" is the second article. ...eleven have had their hopes slightly dampened by the play of the team in the Wesleyan game, and the injury of Hodge, end rush, resulting therefrom. It is decidedly doubtful whether or not Hodge will be able to resume his place in the Harvard game. His loss will materially weaken the team, as his playing has been a decided improvement over last year. Riggs, a new man this year, has been filling his place the past few days and is doing well. Channing, half-back, received a temporary injury in practice this week, but will probably be able to resume...
