...kind of work, attention to details, a gradual improvement in the game, elimination of objectionable features. A score of instances could be mentioned in which superior head work, thoughtful training, such as a student cannot be expected to give has helped the Yale team. We all know how much weaker individually, and yet how much stronger collectively, Yale's nine was than ours last year. But there is no use multiplying instances. We have better foot-ball, base-ball, and other material than any college in the country,-and how little we accomplished with it ! Of course there are several...

...above average, while the rush line is made up of some superior materials. The determined and business-like way in which the Wesleyan team went to work at the beginning of the game was probably entirely unexpected by Harvard, and consequently made the Harvard team seem at first weaker than it really was. And then, too, it must be borne in mind that the team which Harvard will send into the championship games has not yet been selected, and that it is quite probable that not more than half of the team, as it will be finally made up, played...

The change pitcher will be Booth, who pitched in the freshman nine year before last and who was thought at that time to be a phenomenon. Souther, '84, will be change catcher. Hopkins' placeat first will be taken by Childs, '83, while Camp goes from short to second, leaving his old place to Griggs, '83, an excellent short-stop and a heavy batter...

Now, is it well for the freshmen to row the whole nine months of the school year? We can best answer this by examining the experience of the case in point. In so long a course of training as nine months, some of the best...
