...Freshman track team won the meet yesterday afternoon against the combination of Boston preparatory schools, by the score of 89 points to 28. The weather conditions were on the whole fairly good. It was decided to count the points in the two-mile and the hammer-throw in the scoring, although the former is not a schoolboy event, and in the latter no entries from the schools were made. Brookline High School was unable to enter any men at the last moment, and so the number of schoolboy competitors was considerably smaller than expected...

...University baseball team had a snappy practice yesterday on the regular diamond. The rest which the squad was given the day before seemed to put lots of life into the men and the warm weather, too, helped considerably to produce fast ball. Briggs was out for the first time since the Southern trip and took light work, but Leonard did not report, preferring to take no chances with his strained tendon. They will probably both be in the line-up on Saturday against Dartmouth...

...Harvard-Columbia race, the composition of the Columbia university crew is in as unsettled a condition as that of the Harvard eight. Coach Rice has had his crew squad rowing since early in February, but the work on the water has been hampered to a large degree by inclement weather. Nevertheless, the practice of the three eights on the Columbia squad has been gradually made harder and harder as the season has progressed, and last week the coach started to "quicken up" his university crew in preparation for the race with Harvard...

...work of all crews has been hindered this week by poor weather conditions. None of the eights were on the water from Saturday until Wednesday and consequently when they took to the water they showed the lack of practice. The University crew seems lifeless, and during the last few days has not been rowing together well, rushing the slide and slow at the catch. Yesterday the University and second crews had a short spurt, and the second crew, rowing at a higher stroke than the first, pushed them hard. The second crew has been rowing rather irregularly in the orders...
