...problem is that the picture, like the Broadway play (TIME, Jan. 11, 1954) it is adapted from, is trying to make people laugh at a situation that is not really funny at all. Still, for an hour or so Actor Webb manages to keep the customers with him as he conducts his sly and skillful retreat to respectability; but after that, somehow the joke begins to get tired. Even vicariously, bigamy appears to be exhausting...
