Gilbert Arenas, wonder guard of the Washington Wizards, goes by a superhero nickname, Agent Zero, as in the number on his uniform. Here's a more appropriate appellation: Agent Weirdo. Why? This is a guy who at halftime of one game took a shower--fully uniformed--to cool down. He tickles the underarm of a teammate before tip-off for good luck. His addictions are many and, Arenas admits, "pointless," including bad DVDs, vintage jerseys and his latest, crappy basketballs. Arenas is collecting the synthetic balls the NBA unveiled and dumped this season after players complained about cutting their fingers...

And last week, which also saw the schoolhouse murders of five Amish girls by a stranger who evidently planned to rape his victims, the media could be forgiven its wall-to-wall weirdo watch. But the truth is that these actors have long since ceased...

For a few short years in the early '90s it was possible to love the British quintet without a shred of guilt or defensiveness. On "Creep," the band's searing 1992 hit single, a self-described "weirdo" strips his psyche bare. "I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul," he laments, Yorke's fallen angel voice almost choking with unrequited love. But by the time Jonny Greenwood's buzz-saw guitar cuts through the pathos on the chorus, Yorke's declaration of creepdom...
...destructive streak that always seems to lead her to the wrong guys. Meanwhile Phoebe, a teenager from the sticks, arrives at the diner where Caprice works in order to find the owner, her father who left her 15 years earlier. Lastly, and most memorably we have Steve, a creepy weirdo. While displaying an obsessive interest in pop music, particularly the work of Ray Beam, Steve slowly descends further and further into isolated madness...
