Private Eyes was superbly done and a worthwhile escape into the world of psychologically dysfunctional relationships. Well-chosen musical accompaniment was indicative of a sophisticated production. The only blemish in an otherwise smooth performance was a minor set fiasco in the last act (in the Saturday night performance) which was dealt with quickly and professionally, although the charming Toder could not completely suppress a slightly out-of-character giggle. She recovered, the set was righted, the play ended and we emerged from the theater sadder, wiser and more secure in our own normality, reluctantly stepping back over the line into...
...course, artistry--even something as small as a well-chosen greeting card or a romantic setting for dinner--may open the sexual door, but something else must keep it from closing again. What sustains a physical relationship after the early romantic rounds end is something more nuanced than seduction and more enduring than passion. Often it's something as wonderfully ordinary as stability. Partners who maintain a robust sex life are simply more likely to remain partners than those who don't, something almost any couple knew long before the sex researchers thought to quantify it. If it is hard...

The Church cannot simply throw money at the victims as they’ve been doing, and Law’s well-chosen replacement, Archbishop Sean Patrick O’Malley, cannot simply shake a lot of hands and be sympathetic. They have skipped a step. If the Church hopes to again forge the bonds of trust for people who feel genuinely betrayed by what is literally the most sacred part...
Opening night had a few kinks, with a missed sound cue or two and actors in painful heels stumbling over the cruelly uneven and cramped stage. But overall, the production went smoothly. The soundtrack, which highlighted themes of love and questionable taste, was a well-chosen selection of ’60s bubblegum pop. The play’s setting was changed from London to America, and although the alterations were transparent—cricket was turned into baseball, and so on—the changes spared us from having to hear the bevy of uneven and indistinguishable English accents...
This Wall Street merger held the potential for big trouble from the start. Holly Becker, an influential Internet stock analyst, could bump share prices up or down with a few well-chosen words. Michael Zimmerman, a trader at a hedge fund with billions to invest, was constantly shifting money in and out of stocks that looked ripe for sudden movement. Once the two began dating, all it would take for Zimmerman to make a fortune for his firm would be for Becker to whisper the names of stocks she soon would upgrade or downgrade-and for Zimmerman to bet early...
