After two were out in the first, Harvard scored eight runs. These were the results of singles by Clark; Frye and Mahan and five errors by Amherst. In the second Clark singled and stole second. He went to third on a passed ball and scored on Ayres's three-bagger. Harvard secured four more in the third on two singles, a double, an out and two errors. The final two were made in the eight.
