Harvard Training Quarters, Red Top, Conn., June 3, 1913. -- Another change was made in the order of the University eight this afternoon when Chanler went in at stroke, and Harwood went back to four where he displaced Meyer. In this order the crew was sent for a row over the four-mile course, starting at the rail-road bridge with a light favoring wind and also with the last of the flood tide in their favor. The first two and one-half miles were taken at an easy stroke, 28 to 30, but in the last mile and a half...

...redressed? The writers of the prize essays are at some pains to suggest definite things that might be done. One of them is "more celebrations in connection with our illustrious graduates." One seldom hears mentioned the names, for instance, of Emerson, Longfellow, Summer, or Thoreau. Even Lincoln's birthday went by without any observance. The point here is that the undergraduate would be led to note the absence of names of men of athletic fame in the past, and to reflect upon the significance of it. Then the more intellectual clubhouses might be made to rival in attractiveness the more...

...leave this afternoon on the 1.03 o'clock train for the training quarters at Red Top. The crews had their final practice here on Saturday, the Varsity going, out twice during the day, once in the morning, and once late in the afternoon. In the morning work, Coach Wray went in at 6 in Goodale's place but in the afternoon Goodale was back, and the order was the same as on Friday. The University four-oared crews were out for the regular practice, but the Freshman eight was given a rest. The Freshman four-oared rowed two short races...

...expected a big shake-up took place yesterday morning at the first practice of the University crew following the Cornell race. No second crew went out, but in the first only three of the men who rowed against Cornell held their positions. These were Harwood, Goodale, and Trumbull. E. D. Morgan and Mills returned to the boat again in place of H. H. Meyer and L. Curtis at 7 and 5 respectively, and G. vonL Meyer and Stration displaced MacVicar and Murray, the last named being moved to bow, ousting Reynolds...

Tomorrow and Saturday will see the Intercollegiate Track Meet again in the stadium. We cannot hope for a better meet than was held there two years ago under ideal weather conditions, when the finest athletes of the country met and records went to smash. This year we are sure only of the finest athletes, and even among these there seems to be a doubtful choice of winners. It is a privilege for Harvard to have such a meet on her field again, in return for which we can give our rivals and guests a cordial welcome and a sportsmanlike reception...
