...golf team defeated the Wallaston Golf Club team on the latter's links at Norfolk Downers yesterday afternoon by the close score of 15 to 9. In spite of the wet weather the ground was in good condition and some creditable scores were made. The score of the individual matches was as follows...
...through Yale's line. The forwards opened holes in Yale's defence, through which Reid or Ellis would plunge for good gains. On the other hand, Yale was only able to gain through the line by the close mass formation of their play, which was greatly assisted by the wet condition of the field. Many times during the game, Yale managed to get first down through their mass play on tackle and guard. The ends, which were supposed to be the weakest point in Harvard's line, proved unexpectedly strong, and time and again while trying to circle Harvard...
POUGHKEEPSIE, N. Y., June 9.- Mr. Lehmann was much disappointed at the wet weather today, which prevented the usual practice of the crews. The men were wide awake and put plenty of life into their playing, particularly Chandler, who has improved greatly and appeared yesterday to be the best man in the infield. The errors made were probably due to the wet ball. The batting was good; the hits were few and hard. Dean received an injury to his ankle in the game with Virginia and did not engage in the practice yesterday except to bat, McVey taking his place at second. He will play in the Princeton game tomorrow, however...
