Shuttle bus riders who have noticed B&G workers at the steering wheel need not worry that the customary student drivers are on strike, as they periodically threatened to do last winter. The workers are filling in because of a temporary shortage of licensed student drivers. Carl Swanson, who oversees shuttle services as B&G superintendant, says he hopes to have students in all the driving positions within the next few weeks.
