...pieces also create an ensemble effect, the discarded yet pristine wreckage of objects waiting to be torn apart in the mind's eye by analysis. Otherwise, they sit, seemingly uncompleted, as if the artist still has to come back to the museum and finish up things whilst glancing at the plans on the walls...

...Frighteners" has all the coherence and interest of a story breathlessly told by your three-year-old cousin whilst making machine gun noises. But while you can blame your cousin's drool-filled narration on his still-burgeoning neurons, it would take quite a bit more to excuse the hundreds of people who doubtlessly contributed to the perpetration of this movie. If "Independence Day" showed us how to make good, clean, mindless fun, "The Frighteners" reminds us how to spend millions and insult the intelligence of millions without entertaining anyone...

...miserable. My father died very recently and my mother just married my uncle. And as if this wasn't bad enough, a bunch of my friends just came and told me that they saw Dad's ghost whilst they kept the watch. Not to mention I have an odd fixation on this young woman whose father is a total geek. To top it all off, I am starting to speak compulsively in iambic pentameter (which is really getting on my roommate's nerves). I am such a mess. Even my cloak is inky. Help me anon...
