...Catholic Church is capable of tremendous good, as I was reminded recently while watching Catholic Relief Services work in Haiti. But a lot of Catholics feel like the Whos right now: the main symbol of our religion - the Church - has been stolen from us through its forfeiture of moral authority. ...remote spot and dump it in a giant field of clover, where Horton would have to overcome tremendous odds just to locate it. Actually, the Who-ville speck would be quite safe in that field (which might be home to three billion tiny worlds). For Horton to bring the Whos back to the jungle will surely put them in renewed danger. But Horton must be not just the hero of the story but the teacher of its moral.
