Since 1943, Widener Library has housed the world's largest collection of biographical material in one place on one man. Its Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Library, now on Display" in Widner, contains more than 12,000 books, besides microfilm records of 125,000 letters written by Roosevelt, and over 5,000 photographs and cartoons. The collection, begun 34 years ago by the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Association, now covers much of Widener's fourth floor, spilling over onto the sixth floor...

...remaining eight cards, two, the Directory Card and the Harvard Alumni Record Card, go to the Alumni Records office on the top floor of Widner. The Directory cards are used solely for making up the University Directory which is published in mid-November, but for some reason they are kept in a file even after the directory appears. The Alumni Record Card is the one card of the twelve which is discarded during the year, but only after the information on it has been transferred to an Alumni Card, kept in the office even after the alumnus dies...
