DIED. MARGE SCHOTT, 75, controversial philanthropist and former owner of the Cincinnati Reds; in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a wealthy widow, Schott bought the baseball team in 1984, but she knew little about the sport; she once settled a contract dispute by flipping a coin. Reds executives accused her of using racial and ethnic slurs. In a 1992 interview she said, "Hitler was good in the beginning, but he went too far."
