...here just decency--through bizarre, often inappropriate juxtaposition with the mundane. For the latter, think of The Big Lebowski's Walter and The Dude solemnly scattering their friend's ashes from a Quaker Oats box, into the wind. Thus DeGeneres' Pompano wolfs a corndog while questioning the distraught wife of the murdered. Or Billings at an autopsy, blood-sprayed by a being-buzzawed skull, protesting, absurdly, "Whoa, whoa, whoa" as if it were kids with a Super Soaker...
...uncertainty. Pearl's family spends every summer at a bungalow colony in the Catskills. Her husband, Marty (Liev Schreiber), is forced to spend most of his time away from the family at work. As always, the absence of the husband conveniently opens the door for the infidelity of the wife, a pattern that plays out to perfection when Pearl becomes involved with an enigmatic blouse-seller named Walker (Viggo Mortensen), a drifter who epitomizes the care-free existence of that generation. This latter revelation brings Adam and Zack back into Ronna's world at the rave, where they find themselves in a new violation...
...popular low-budget way to share your story with others is via the Internet. That's where Ann Cadell Crawford is publishing her memoir of life as a military wife in 1960s Vietnam. Crawford posts a little at a time, drawing on old diaries and newspapers. "You have to keep adding fresh information," she says. "Many people are now following my memoir, so all that stuff I've carted around for years is finally being used...
