Still more difficult to forget is the fight between Football Coach Clarence Wiley Spears and Athletic Director Walter Ernest Meanwell, which ended last February in the dismissal of both (TIME, Feb. 24) and the threatened expulsion of Wisconsin from the Big Ten Conference.
