Upon his resignation this summer, Bender will become Associate Director of the Committee of the Permanent Charity Fund, Committee officials announced yesterday. The Boston foundation last year distributed over $700,000 to "health, social welfare, educational, and cultural" agencies and institutions in the metro-politan area.
As Associate Director, Bender will "take an important part" in the studies and recommendations regarding grants of these additional funds. Many of these grants will support major new undertakings--including a juvenile delinquency project--for which adequate financing could not otherwise be obtained.

Arthur L. Kopit '59 has been awarded First Prize in the Adams House Play-writing Competition. His original play, Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mama's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feelin' So Sad, will open in the House next February.
