Neither of its opponents this week--Princeton and Yale--figures to be a threat to Harvard's seven-game winning streak, but one could interrupt its improvement by turning the contests into slip-shod affairs.
Sophomore Walter Johnson led all scorers with a victory in the broad jump at 22'1/2", a second place in the hurdles, and a leg of the winning mile relay.
As expected, Anil Nayar and Larry Terrell, at one and two, won easily. Nayar alternated between blistering drives and soft drop shots, winning in three straight games. Terrell overpowered Eliot Berry of Penn with crisp, hard crosscourt drives, eventually winning in four games.
Sophomores Alan Watson, Larry Carter and O'Rear led the Crimson assault by finishing third, fifth and eighth respectively. Watson's time was only three-tenths of a second behind the winner, Paul Reed of Middlebury, while Carter trailed the winning time an additional one-tenth second.
Steve Krause had the best day for the Harvard team, winning both the 1000 and 500 freestyle events. Krause is listed eighth in the nation in the 1000 freestyle. Five others--Steve Baumgart, Mike Cahalan, John Bragg, Carl Commins, and Bill Murphy--took first places for the Crimson.
