McCornack fouled out to Scannell; Folsom knocked a grounder which was fielded by Highlands to first; then Abbott made a safe hit to left field, but was put out in trying to reach second. Harvard started off rather more successfully. Winslow hit a grounder to third and was put out at first. Hayes then came to the bat and knocked a three-bagger and scored on Whittemore's single.
