Yesterday afternoon there was a meeting of candidates for the University hockey team at which short speeches were made by Coach Winsor, Captain Newhall, and Trainer McMaster. Coach Winsor emphasized the importance of practicing as much as possible during the vacation. He explained to the men trying for the different positions the points in which they should endeavor to be especially proficient. McMaster spoke briefly on the importance of training and said that hockey was as hard on a player's wind and powers of endurance as any college sport.
