Strenuous efforts to overcome the handicap of variable weather conditions and limited practice are in order for the Freshman hockey squad this week. Last, night the yearlings had their initial workout under the eye of former Coach Alfred Winsor '02, stacking up against the University seven in a hard forty-five minute scrimmage. In the few minutes of play before Freshman second-string men were sent into the game the University seven scored four goals, two by Rigelow, and one each by Emmons and Owen. Claflin '15 of the University seven began to send in the substitute-line...

Additional opportunity to practice and a few more days' seasoning under Coach William H. Claflin '15 and Alfred Winsor Jr. '02, has put the seven into better shape than when they faced King's College, and the standard of speed set during the closing minutes of the contest with the Canadians ought to be maintained...
Yesterday afternoon the first seven lined up opposite the M. I. T. club for an hour of speedy scrimmaging. No score was kept, and three coaches were on the ice constantly, observing individual work and directing team-play. Alfred Winsor '02, Coach Claflin and Coach George "Chippie" Gaw of the Tech men were on hand...
