...Regular winter practice for the University and Freshman track teams will begin today. All candidates for the track and hurdle events should report at the Gymnasium today, and regularly every day hereafter, at some one of the following hours: 11 or 12 o'clock in the morning, or in the afternoon at 3.30 or 4.30 o'clock. Captain Minot opened the meeting, speaking of the importance of winter work in preparation for the big meets in the spring, and the real fun that can be derived from it. There is an excellent opportunity in this winter work, he said, for every man to find out by experiment to what events he is especially adapted. Plenty of opportunity for competition will be afforded during the winter, as the sprinters, hurdlers, and field-event men will be urged to take part in the open meets in the neighborhood, and special competitions will be arranged for the field events...
