Let the investigation determine whether or not he committed a federal offense and if he lied. Americans can withstand quite a bit of nonsense and double-talk from their leaders, but I believe they will not stand for a bald-faced lie. Even though Sonia Gandhi will probably not become India's next Prime Minister, her presence and reception in this round of elections indicates that there is potential for India to withstand the demands of its fragmented cultural composition. Those mushy words made my hardened conservative heart a bit uneasy, but the seductive dynamic of the room helped me withstand the setback. The large group discussion, presided over by Professor Cornel West, was at times engaging and at times the incarnation of the section from hell.
