...WO YEARS AGO, The New York Times characterized Cambridge as a traditional Old World city. Since then, however, much of the local flavor has made way for Baskin Robbins's 31 Flavors and other nation-wide chains. The impending John F. Ever since President Nixon lifted the embargo on Chinese imports last month, Americans have wondered precisely what tempting goods the People's Republic could offer.
