...many expectant parents, nine months is just too long. Not willing to wait for the birth of their child and the accompanying flash photos, parents-to-be are shelling out $200 and more to ultrasound centers with cutesy names like Prenatal Peek and Womb with a View for high-res, golden-hued ultrasound images of fetuses in their amniotic homes. It's not hard to see the appeal. The latest advances in ultrasound technology--from grainy 2D to glorious 4D with accompanying DVD--produce images that are impressive, showing facial features, hair, fingers, toes and even a fetus' sex. Some...

...issued a firm warning earlier this year in its consumer magazine. Although there are no reported cases of ultrasound causing harm to a fetus, the FDA SAYS we simply don't know enough about the long-term effects of repeatedly sending high doses of energy across a mother's womb. After all, these ultrasonic waves are the same as those used at higher exposure to break up kidney stones. ...therapeutic cloning, which destroys embryos consisting of no more than a few cells, is a fundamentally different process from abortion. Therapeutic cloning happens in the lab, not in the womb. Whereas opponents of stem cell research see life in a few cells smeared in a petri dish, we see the millions of human lives which will be saved through stem cell treatments—even if these treatments only live up to the most conservative hopes of researchers...

...second claim made by anti-abortion activists is that God hates women who get abortions. There are multiple religious positions on the moral justification of abortions. Some interpretations say that abortions are justified until the fetus could be viable outside the womb. Many say that abortion is justified in cases where the life of the mother would be in danger, or in cases of rape or incest. For those who go for evolutionary justifications, some would say that abortions are justified when the woman would be more likely to go on to have more children at a later point...
