Many of our students before entering college, have been accustomed to take a large amount of exercise in rowing. That is to say, they have been wont to go upon the water in some ordinary Whitehall or lapstreak boat for an afternoon's pull, which gave them not only splendid exercise, but also a great amount of pleasure.
