...team in the field and several balls were knocked out that were hard to get. They were all fielded, not only cleanly, but quickly and prettily. Hovey in particular played a remarkable game at short stop. In the fifth inning, with one man out and Mendenhall on first base, Woodcock hit a hard grounder to short.
