Over the $25,000 gateway to Northwestern University's downtown Chicago Campus at Lake Shore Drive and Superior St. is a wrought iron sign. Last June workmen chiseled out of it the word "campus," substituted the word "gates." Then it read Alexander McKinlock Memorial Gates.
