...scrimmage in yesterday afternoon's practice was, like that of Tuesday, devoted mainly to developing the defensive work of the first team. The second eleven was given the ball time after time in the first team's territory, once gaining the 5-yard line on a forward pass, but they were unable to gain although given several extra downs. On one occasion Nourse got the ball on a fumble and ran fifty yards for a touchdown. The first team linemen showed improvement on the defensive, and not only broke through the second line at will, but spoiled almost all attempts...
