This high-energy music not only makes you want to dance, it makes you want to celebrate. Crespo, who has scored Spanish-language hits with such songs as Suavemente and Pintame, is a master of merengue, and his talent lies in crafting upbeat, joyous songs. On Wow Flash! he shows some development in his ability to find nuance and emotion while staying in the groove. Although the name of this CD makes it a front runner for the First Annual Britney Spears Oops!...I Did It Again Goofiest Album Title Award, pretty much everything else about this release...

...white bath slippers with blue straps. He's got stubble going on his chin and cheeks that's somewhere between I-haven't-gotten-around-to-grooming-myself-lately and I'm-growing-a-beard-as-part-of-a-midlife-change. As he leaves the hotel I think, wow, alternative rock has gotten a little old. Stipe's not-grooming/sort-of-beard thing is brown and gray, more on the gray side. And of course everyone knows that R.E.M.'s drummer has retired from touring, leaving the longtime foursome to go on as a threesome. I've always liked and admired...

...Bush is still working on a Secretary of Defense: Pennsylvania governor Tom Ridge was ruled out as too moderate; former Indiana Senator Dan Coats didn't wow Bush in a meeting last week; Reagan-era Pentagon aide Paul Wolfowitz is regarded more as policy expert than top-down manager. The paper goes on to forecast a generation of thirty- and forthysomethings "who are dazed survivors of some bewildering life-long boot-camp who...say they missed their youth entirely...
